Anybody know the ins and outs of service academy admissions?

My kid is in the very early stages of life planning, and has been talking more about the academies as possible destinations. He's really bright...much smarter than the old man, but also pretty affected by ADHD. The ADHD is pretty well managed, but he still struggles mightily with organization, meeting deadlines, forgetting things, etc. He's on a 504 plan with school, with very minor accommodations (which he doesn't really use anyway). My thought has been that it's best to keep the 504 plan in place, just in case he needs a little support at some point down the line. So my question is this...would having a 504 plan in place hurt his chances at gaining admission? I mean, I know generally that schools aren't supposed discriminate...but an ultra competitive place like a service academy?
